I'm knackered. I feel like I've been out drinking last night. I guess we didn't get back til 2am so that must account for it.
It rained for most of the late afternoon - just the time we wanted to go into Cooper's field for the Mardi Gras. At least something made me wet. It certainly wasn't the women! How come fashion sense and hairstyling and make up seems to have passed them by? I'm sure it's not all of them, but the majority of the women I saw there yesterday I wouldn't touch with a stick. But the men - OMG they were gorgeous. It was like torture to see them all looking so lovely and not be able to eye them up. Paul is so lucky.
It was good to go. I was a little nervous to begin with. Not because of the Gay thing but because I always do in a new place when i don't know quite what to expect. I felt exactly the same the first time I went to Glastonbury, worried that people would be thinking that I didn't fit in there. That soon passed though.
I saw my first drag queen perform in real life - she was so funny. We saw Charlotte Church and someone out of Steps and a couple of other people that I'm sure are famous but I don't know their names. We wandered around the stalls avoiding the mud and I bought a great faghag bag and some Gay Pride wristbands for the girls.
Then we met my friend from school and went for a drink with her in the evening. We met her outside a 'straight' pub and Paul held onto my arm for dear life, scared of the breeders. When she arrived we walked round to a gay pub and he relaxed and let me go. As we walked into the pub I felt a hand in mine and wondered why he was holding it again. I turned round to find my friend holding my hand, scared of the 'gays'!! For gods sake!
Oh, and now I have photos!!! I'm not sure whether these will go straight into my journal or whether they'll need clicking on. I can't quite work out why they won't appear straight on here. I must be doing something wrong. I'm putting them under a cut in case they come out really big. The first one is of me and Pauls friend who came with us. The second is of me, Paul and my friend Tracey with some bloke who Tracey fell in love with (well, at least with his hat)The last one is of the most gorgeous man at the Mardi Gras with his beautiful faghag!!

Maybe that was the problem why you didn't get hit on. I'm quite relieved that I didn't! Even with my faghagbag it wasn't getting us anywhere. Nevermind - you were wonderful company and I had a great time.
